Professional Standards

Professional program certifications and accreditations are crucial in ensuring that global health donation programs adhere to recognized standards, promote accountability, and ultimately improve health outcomes for populations worldwide.

The Accreditation offers programs a systematic process to assess, strenthen and certify commitement to excellence by

  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality by undergoing a voluntary external evaluation.

  • Identifying program strengths and weaknesses.

  • Facilitating capacity building and program improvement.

  • Documenting program capacity to adhere to MSA Code of Conduct and WHO Principles for Good Product Donation.

Accreditation Process

Self-Assessment & Documentation

Organizations use the MSA self-assessment tool to evaluate and document their compliance with the MSA Code of Conduct.

This capacity-building process offers a framework for the organization’s staff, board, and stakeholders to review their current practices, revise existing policies, and self-certify their commitment to quality practices.

Consultation & Application

Organizations seeking MSA Accreditation meet with MSA staff or volunteers to discuss the accreditation process and finalize the submission.

An application fee is required with the application.

External Review and Site Visit

A team of volunteer peer reviewers and standards experts assess the submission and conduct a site visit to confirm the applicant’s capacity and commitment to meet MSA standards and WHO guidelines.
